My son just turned 3 and won't use the words "me" or "I". When he wants something, he says "the Jack wants juice" etc. He got into his brother's legos yesterday and when I explained that "no, those are Brandon's legos" he yelled "no those are the Jack's legos!" He bumped his head this morning and came running to dad saying "hurted the Jack's head." We have always talked normally around him, so I have no idea where he is getting this from

Maybe he likes how his name sounds? My son and daughter never talked like that so I am not a lot of help!

My daughter is two, and while she normally will use "I" or "me" in her sentences, sometimes she will speak in the third person. She seems to be growing out it slowly.

Do you ever ask him things like "Would Jack like some juice?' or "Does Jack want to go outside?" If he hears you using his name that way, he might just be copying you.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to laugh, but I'm sure that's the cutest thing I'll hear today. Don't worry-kids do and say the strangest things; he'll grow out of it I'm sure :)

He's just trying things out. I'd be happy he's talking, lol. Just correct him without being brash. when he says "The Jack wants juice" just respond with "I think you meant to say 'I want juice'"

If the problem persists once he goes onto preschool then I would be concerned.

My three year old will say I and me but sometimes refers to himself as "Oliber" lol. His name is Oliver. He starts off asking me a question like "How are you mommy?" and then follows up with "Oliber is sleepy" or whatever.

So he is talking in 3rd person...

I have not encountered this. I would assume it is a phase. My oldest was a delayed talker, and my other two talked well before they were supposed to. I do remember when each one would do little odd things. I tried to ignore it, or I would repeat the correct thing back to them. I wouldnt worry!

    No
Mine says "me" instead of "I" most of the time.

    Me: are you sleepy?

    Brent: Me not!

    Lol

    lol.  that's kind of adorable.

I wouldn't worry too much.  If he's still doing it in 6 months, look into it.
