Mom Confessions
I have been reading quite a few articles lately pondering Hillary Clinton being appointed to the Supreme Court. What are your thoughts on that?

by AnonymousJanuary 28 at 9:59 AMum no. just no. Regardless looking at her; i swear she is in failing health. I know her personal health is her business but there is something wrong with her. :(
I would love to see her run for president in 2016. I heard Biden may run..and if he does..i will run away with my arms waving wildly. lmao. we will be doomed then.

She had the stamina to visit more countries than any other Secretary of State, including Kissinger (one of the most popular), and had the greatest success in diplomatic efforts.

i know but i think her health issues go much deeper than a flu, a fall, concussion and blood clot.
I really hope she runs for president in 2016 though. If Biden decides to run; then we are all fucked. that man is a idiot.

by Anonymous - Original PosterJanuary 28 at 10:11 AMBiden actually was the one who brought the sides together for the latest financial cliff agreements. He comes off as a "good 'ole boy" and a bit of a blunderer, but if you know him he is actually a shrewd politician.
I would prefer Hillary though.

by Anonymous - Original PosterJanuary 28 at 10:18 AMShe is actually an attorney and has a specialty in constitutional law, just like Obama. Most sitting judges have knowledge regarding their state laws, but they are not required to have any true constitutional law knowledge beyond the basics.

Or, how about we have someone who has actually sat on a bench the bulk of their career and can actually see the long-term benefits and risks to making decisions that affect the Constitution? She is a politican- not a judge.

She has been a politican. Not a practicing attorney! If she had been a practicing attorney, then maybe I would not think so ill of the idea. She has not been on any bench in any number of decades- if ever. It would not be appropiate for her to become a Supreme Court Justice. She is not qualified for the job. They look at how the nominated person has ruled on cases and what kind of judge he or she is. There is no way to assess that, since that has not been her career goal.

by Anonymous - Original PosterJanuary 28 at 10:27 AMClarence Thomas spent 16 months as a judge, so looking at past cases really isn't as important as you seem to think. Many of the supreme court have been educators in law schools, and never were a judge. Kagan was dean of Havard Law School and a solicitor general.
I have to laugh because look at Clarence Thomas now. He spends his time sneaking away from his security detail to drive his "bus" to Walmart parking lots where he "camps" and goes in to mingle with the "little people". It's so bad they had to outfit his bus with a tracking system so the secret service can monitor his travels.
