Mom Confessions
My brother and SIL gave me earrings for Christmas, the problem is I don't even have pierced ears so I couldn't wear these earrings if I wanted to. They did not give me a gift receipt so I can't return them, so what do I do with them? I would like to try and sell them but I don't want to offend them, although it is a little offensive that they couldn't put more thought into my gift and its not like they didn't know, we are around them all the time. So would it be okay to sell them or what do ya'll think?

Regift or repurpose them -
Did you ask your brother for the recipt to try and exchange the gift? I would do that first. If for some reason that's not an option, then I would just sell them. -
I would tell them that you can't wear them and ask for the receipt.

You could convert them to clip-on if you don't want to offend them. I googled and found a link.

I would ask where they got them and remind them you cannot wear them. Or regift them.

This is a great idea but I can't wear them at all because I am allergic to the metal.

Its obvious they put just about zero thought into this gift. Sell em. And don't feel guilty. -
Never thought about regifting them, maybe I will do that.

Sell them if you can. If your brother and/or SIL ask, just point to your ears and tell them you can't use their thoughtless gift.
