If i liked the Dark Tower series how well will i like these?

I haven't read all of them but I liked the ones I have read. I love Stephen King but couldn't get into the Dark Tower books so IDK how they compare.

I read the maximum ride series. I just need a new one. I can't stand stand alone books.

My husband has read dark tower. I love the Alex cross books. I get the impression from him that the dark tower books are somewhat sci-fi or fantasy? The Alex cross books are nothing like that. They are good though. Each one has a bad guy/murder/mystery to be solved.
