It's only 8 weeks ago that I had my son, but since becoming a mom I've already noticed that a lot of recommendations are just useless. Even when I previously thought it was good advice.
What is the most useless/ridiculous advice you've ever been given?

Stop breastfeeding at a year or your kid will be messed up. Lol.
I don't talk to that woman any more. -
That I should use one of those 'angel' monitors that will detect if the baby stops breathing in the crib. So unneccessary.

"formula is better for your baby, cause it keeps them fuller longer" LOL
OH AND
"put cereal in your babies bottle"

give a teething baby chicken bones
add infant cereal to their bottles for ANY reason -
if you switch between a pacifier/bottle and breast before 6 weeks, the baby will have "nipple confusion"

I thought so too. My last baby has stopped breathing on us 3 times. Talk about scare the poop out of you.

"I know what I'm talking about!" (Just because she has more than 1 child) I'm sure you do but I know my child better than you do so... -
I added infant cereal and the pureed banana's to my dd's formula bottles all the time. She loved it. It was her morning breakfast treat. Her dr told me I was doing just fine, he even told me it was perfectly fine to add the cereal to her bottles..
I don't understand why that is such horrible advice??
