What's the deal about preteens & teens (12 & up) drinking coffee? I mean, my parents never told us we couldn't and I've been drinking it since I was 10, it never hurt me or my siblings.

I have seen parents give their Kids , pepi, coke, mountain dew etc. And that's ok. Mountain Dew has a ton of caffeine in it, so why is that ok, but coffee is so wrong. At least the coffee has some health benefits.

And for kids who have ADHD or other issures it can be a help. I have bad allergies and my brother has asthma. When we were kids we'd drink coffee to help with the symptoms.

That's my question. Why do you think some parents give kids other drinks with sugar, corn syrup and caffeine, such as Mountain Dew, etc, But Coffee is a big no no ?

Not sure. Brb I need a cup of coffee. I let my ds drink it when he was 15. He never got the addiction to it and only drank it once in awhile. It helped his allergies.

My 4 year old doesn't drink coffee and rarely has soda. I don't like soda so I don't buy it, grandma on the other hand is a different story. We have water, milk, green tea, and his juice boxes to drink. What people give their kids to drink isn't my business.
