Tell him to take a stand for you and other spouses and he should refuse to go. tell him to stay home with you. If he's wormy he will try to say something like he needs to impress the boss or he is expected to be there or some other laim excuse.

Not stranag or odd at all in this economy. Most companies are only having employees attend holiday parties. I've been to several in the past where it was just the employees no spouses, fiances or other. Cutting down expenses.

My husband's company always mails a formal invite with all the details....
