i quit cold turkey, I was just ready to quit so for me it was pretty easy.

Whenever I would head out to smoke my df would ask if I really needed it. If I couldn't give him a good reason he would laugh and I'd hand the pack over. Helped me realize that cigarettes weren't really necessary.

I quit cold turkey but I was sick and smoking made it worse so it wasn't that bad. DH tried to quit with Chantix and I told him to go by cigarettes or I'd kill him- that stuff made him so miserable.

This. I've been lucky enough to not have problems with just stopping. Granted I didn't smoke very much, a pack would last me three or four days.

Cold Turkey, 7 years ago. I used the American Lung Association's smoking cessation program on their website, lungusa[dot]org. It has a very high success rate. Good luck!! -
