Communicate your frustration & why what they did is disrespectful.
I had that done growing up and I hated it. I hate spicy things now. My SO and I have come to the conclusion that's why -

I use vinegar too! And I literally don't need to do anymore than dip the spoon in it!

I never said spanking wasn't abuse. I personally believe spanking is abuse. I don't spank.
