Mom Confessions
SO and I were chatting the other night, and we were talking about sex.
He out of nowhere said "OH yeah, you're kind of hairy down there..."
After the initial shock wore off, I explained that my vagina in particular is prone to infections more than others, or at least it seems that way. I keep a bush down there (tamed and groomed, of course) because IMO, it helps prevent those infections. The times I shave it all completely, I end up with a yeast infection or BV.
Anyone else have that?
Before you ask, no I do not expect him to go down with my hair, because he didn't when I had no hair.

Does waxing hurt? And how long til you need to wax again?.... I shave but its so much work and i have thought about waxing but i worry it hurts..

I don't see why shaving would give you a yeast infection. That seems like something I would talk with a doctor about. In my opinion, I feel MUCH cleaner and healthier down there without hair but I get waxed because I don't like shaving. -
It's probably not shaving itself that give you the yeast infection/BV... You are probably getting whatever you use to shave(shave gel, soap, etc.) in your vag, which is throwing off your pH making the bacteria/fungus grow too much. Maybe try showering with warm water then dry it off and use some water based lube to shave. Soaps should never even get into your vulva because it can dry you out and make it easy to get infections. -
by AnonymousOctober 12, 2012 at 8:43 PMHmmm... You know I didn't think about that. This is the second time I've had BV this year and the only thing that's the same is that I'm shaved. :^\
I'm on the meds again now, so I guess I'm growing this bush back out to see if that helps. -
It does hurt but it stops hurting immediately afterwards. And after a few times, it hurts much less. You will be hairless for about two weeks and then some hair will start to grow back but since the hair follicles grow in different cycles, it will be pretty thin. It's completely worth it.

Also shaving soap can throw off the ph balance

The hair on your body is there for a reason. It traps bacteria and keeps it from entering your orifices.

What is the average cost? How often do you do it?
