Every night when I go to bed I start itching. My sheets and blankets are clean. I do not have bedbugs or anything similar. I itch all over. I never have bite marks or red marks. My son sleeps with me and he does not have this issue. I do take about five or six night time sleep aid pills. If I go to take a nap durring the day I dont itch. The itching is so bad it makes it hard to fall asleep. What is causing this? Could it be a reaction to the night time sleep aid? This all started about six months ago.

It could be the sleep aid or you could have a form of RLS. That's not always limited to your legs.

What drug do your sleep aids have in them? It could be a reaction.

When I was younger, I used to take the OTC sleep aids with benedryl and it would make me twitch.  I found taking a hot bath right before bed relaxed my muscles to stop the twitching and help me fall asleep.

    RLS will cause itching?

Well if u don't itch when taking a nap seems like the logical thing would be the sleep meds

I think its the same thing in Benadryl. I think Im going to try Melatonin soon. But someone told me it wont work if you take it every night.
