since when do 'donations' become mandatory to enter into an establishement? There was a barn dance going on, and it says, 'suggested donation' $20/pp...so a friend went there, and was told he couldnt' enter with a $10 donation, he HAD to pay $20 to get in.....a donation is a donation, isn't it??

I've heard if it... I think it's stupid to call it a donation at that point.

I see that a lot. It's called a donation, but really it's mandatory.

At my job, we have to pick a charity to donate to. It could be as little as a dollar, but you have to donate something each pay. It comes right out of your check. There are like 500 organizations to choose from.
I donate to our local domestic violence shelter - 10 dollars a pay. That's a tax break and I'm doing something good.
