I am trying to help a friend of mine get Christmas for her son, and right now she is unable to. She works but its hard to keep the bills up and give Christmas to her son. She, does not know I am asking for all the help I can get. I have bought her presents for her little boy, and I just want to make this the best Chirstmas he has ever had. He did not get anything last year, due to the fact she was struggling them too. She was even unable to give him a birthday because of lack of funds. If anyone could help me, with some linksI would be very thankful.

How thoughtful of you. Just don't make her feel like a charity case because she could get mad. Just tell her you know she's struggling and you are helping her because that's what friends do.

Tell her to go to the Salvation Army or get on the Angel Tree.

I'm not going to say this isn't a true case, it's true enough in America all around but PLEASE be careful ladies, especially to those of you who are new to Cafemom. All forums get inundated this time of year with people begging strangers for help, lots of them Anon, and you never know who it really is posting. Don't get taken for a sucker.

Also, tell her to look into your local food pantry. Many of them offer programs through the holidays to help families provide gifts at Christmas. One of the pantries up here calls it "Adopt a Family".

Also, go on FB... most towns/counties have "Garage Sale" and "Give-away" type pages. If you look hard enough you can find things that are still new, or like new (the kids aren't going to check for tags!), for very cheap, or even free.

Terms of service. Asking other members for money or gifts is against the rules.

Then you need to define exactly what kind of help you want. You can't ask for charity from members.

    Not my rules, it's Cafemom's.
