Raising Special Needs Kids
My son loves to line up the DVD's in a line...just curious to know if any other autistic children do this?

my boys will line up anything, toys, shoes,tapes, movies. -
So far his has just been dvd's and sometimes cars.

My nephew always has to keep his trains lined up.

Yep, can be. All 3 of mine line everything up. One is known to be on the spectrum and the other two are suspected. -

My daughter has been lining up/organizing things since she was 2. A therapist said it gives her some sort of control since she can't control her mind. -
My son hasnt been diagnosed with autism though.

That is one thing my son has never done. He is too hyper to take the time to line things up. He used to stack, but that never lasted long. It would drive him crazy to sit too long. -
I think some autistic children do that, but then there are non-autistic children who do it as well....just because your child lines things up doesn't necessarily mean he/she is autistic. I see a lot of that behavior in ALL children to be honest. If you're concerned though, see his pediatrician and have him evaluated...I'm all about getting answers! Hugs and good luck mama!
