I was just washing some strawberries , and remebered when i was a kid my dads friend saying , he washes all his fruit with soap and water before he gives it to his kids.
since this was atleast 10yrs ago , im sure organic fruit wasnt as easily found.
but then again im not sure of the fine details, maybe he washed organic fruit too!
over the top?
or good parenting?
a bit of both lol. Some fruit do need a little extra more than just water because of waxiness absorbing sprays more. I'm sure soap did do the trick, but it's still a bit excessive. Simple vinegar in a spray bottle should do the trick (& keep soapy residues off your food). If you mix 1 c. distilled white vinegar and 3c. cold water and then spray your fruits and veggies. Be sure to rinse them in cold water after to get the vinegar taste off and any bacteria the vinegar may have loosened
