I think people overthink what's necessary for babies. I put mine on the floor; they would roll around, but never stayed very long in any one position. I got down there with them and just played, sang, talked.

Have you tried putting a boppy pillow under him so that he is not totally flat?

I didn't do tummy time with any of my kids. That all hated it and I saw no point in it.

I only did it a few times with my dd, she wasn't a fan either.

Ds hates it. Now that he's sitting up, he is much happier

So don't do it. I don't understand why people continue to do things like that. Just let the baby play. He or she will develop their core muscles without help. Holding your kid upright and having them lay on your chest and most every day activities will be good enough.

If baby doesn't like it, don't do it.

This, my babies didn't like it very much either so we just didn't do it. None of them were hurting in the movement department.

Just laying on your chest counts as tummy time, too. Do that instead.

My son hated it at first, but now he gets a kick out of it. :)
