Baby by himself
March 5, 2013 at 4:17 PM

My son is just over 6 months old. For the most part, he's a pretty chill baby. He seems to want to play with himself more than with us, is that normal? Or ami just reading too far into it?

it's totally fine :) don't worry. if he gets older and is anxious to be around others, then maybe you can worry. but even then, some kids just like to be alone... im like that. i have times i like to be alone, but im actually very social.

My dd mostly played on her own too. I figured it was normal.

It's normal. They all have their own personalities.

Its normal, my ds was like that too. He is 10 now and perfectly normal and he is social. My dd was the complete opposite she wanted attention all the time

There's a wide variation of normal and this is within normal range.

My kids are both attention seekers who require me to watch them play to be really happy. Enjoy this!

Sounds normal to me. I spent the day with my nephew yesterday and he was just like that. Totally content to just sit on the floor and chew on the toy he was playing with.
Enjoy it while you can. I'm sure a clingy stage will start before you know it!
