CafeMom's 200 Most Popular Baby Names of 2012

Pick a good one, Mom and Dad.Here is the list we've all been waiting for -- 2012's most popular baby names list gathered from CafeMom's community. Some will cheer that our little bundle made it to #9 (my son) because that means it's such an awesome moniker many had to choose it; while others will re-think their choice and head to the Social Security office for a name change.

One of the most controversial names -- Nevaeh (heaven spelled backwards) -- increased a notch in popularity this year from 2011's list, but the number one most popular name for boys and girls remained the same. It's clear we've been inspired by the Royal Family (wonder if Kate and William will have a little Junior if it's a boy), America's 'royal' somethings the Kardashians (Mason! Khloe! Kendall!), the ever-inspirational Twilight and Teen Mom, and even Fifty Shades of Grey, though shockingly Anastasia didn't make the list. Figures only the dominant one did.

my daughter is #71 (spelled with one N though) And my newborn son is number 11 (spelled with a Y instead of an O)

Unfotunately one of my daughters names is on the list lol. I named her Zoey because I had only heard that name like 1 or 2 other times before and I wanted uncommon names for my kids. But as soon as I named her that now I here that name a lot lol. I still think it is a beautiful name. There are lots of common names that I like but that I would not want to name my child that exactly for the reason that they are too common. I still do not personally know any Zoey's besides my daughter though, so maybe she wont end up with 10 friends that have the same name lol.

One of them - Kaylee. My son is named Mark-Ryan so chances are he will never meet someone else with his name lol except for my husband who he's named after lol

my both my son's first (I spell it differently) and middle names are on the boy's list...

but neither of my daughter's names are on the girl's list... I like it that way  :)
