Cutting Dead Weight
July 25, 2011 at 10:48 PM

Have you had to weed out some friends from your life since having children? People that were just toxic and consumed far too much of your energy? Did it make you happy and relieved or cause you sadness?

Yes and both happy and sad about it.

Friends, no.  At least none that really mattered.

I don't mind cutting "dead weight" when I need to. My hubby and kids are more important than a toxic relationship. However, for the most part, I've just cut back how often I see most people.

Yes - I have dumped friends who are bad for me & my mental/emotional health. No regrets.

Yes I have and it's brought mixed emotions. I miss some of those friends but I think I did the right thing deep down.

Glad I'm not alone. I severed a 15yr friendship and while I am relieved and happy to not have the drama, there is a bit of sadness also.
