Turkey was free.
8 oz. mushrooms for mushroom stuffing $1.20. Everything else on hand
Green bean casserole: $1.50 for frozen green beans, 95¢ for bacon, 60¢ for mushrooms = $3.05
Butternut squash was free from my garden
broccoli casserole $1.50 for frozen broccoli, everything else on hand
Layer salad: 99¢ for mixed salad greens, 95¢ for bacon, $1.69 for cheddar cheese, everything else on hand
Pumpkin and cherry pies: everything on hand
Gingerbread pumpkin trifle: 2 containers whipping cream $1.09 each = $2.18 everything else on hand
lemon meringues: 1 dozen eggs $1.50 everything else on hand
Grand Total $11.56 for Thanksgiving dinner for 8

Ugg.... We are hosting for 20 people.... spent about $300 on groceries, ect for Thanksgiving plus a breakfast for the following day.
A few people are bringing sides so I suppose that saves a little. We also borrowed an extra table and some chairs instead of buying them.
Hopefully my parents will chip in a few bucks for food, but otherwise.... we will be out the whole amount. Holidays seem to rotate around every few years so I suppose we haven't had to pay that much since the last time we hosted (probably 5 years ago)
