However, we plan on using our free turkey for Christmas, and I stocked up on the other fixings that were B1G1 this week. We should get out of Christmas dinner for less than $10.

Ugg.... We are hosting for 20 people.... spent about $300 on groceries, ect for Thanksgiving plus a breakfast for the following day.

A few people are bringing sides so I suppose that saves a little.   We also borrowed an extra table and some chairs instead of buying them.

Hopefully my parents will chip in a few bucks for food, but otherwise.... we will be out the whole amount.    Holidays seem to rotate around every few years so I suppose we haven't had to pay that much since the last time we hosted (probably 5 years ago)

not sure yet how much it varies year to year but this year dh is getting the meats so not sure yet. I got all the fixins so it was cheap I bought a little here and there along the way and stored it in the pantry so it wasn't so costly this week.
