Do you have any tips or suggestions, maybe some recipes for affordable meals?

Get a bag of black beans and cook them in the crock pot. Cook some Spanish rice (also easy and cheap. I use brown rice, it's healthier). Rice and beans together are so healthy! My family likes these with quesadillas, inside burritos, or just plain for lunch :)

We spend a fortune on food ...I try to make something cheap like spaghetti, tacos,  or BLT's now and then and that helps.

you can also add pepperoni, veggies, sausage and other pizza toppings in your spaghetti (layer it like baked spaghetti and put cheese on top) this changes it up quite a bit!

dry beans goes a long ways.....  I like big butter beans.  Soak em then throw em in a pan on the stove.  During the last 15 minutes take flaky canned biscuits and peel them apart drop them in the beans and let em plump up like dumplings.  Sooo good!
