OT - Tatting
April 4, 2013 at 9:00 PM

Ok, this post is for all my fellow crafty moms. As some of you know, I've started my own side-line of making doilies (crocheted) on commission - so a client can specify size, color, design elements, etc. I've always done either crochet or knit, but I recently came across some patterns for tatting.....but they are somewhat confusing to me...do any of you know of any beginners tatting instructions on the Internet?

Thanks!

here's m latest doily design (it's 18 inches in diameter w/ 16 individual butterflies around the perimeter)

Wow Shannon!!  Amazing work....really beautiful.  I know nothing about tatting.  I remember my mom doing a little tatting when I was really young.

I think I have it figured out. My problem was in going from one row/round to the next, but I think i got the hang of it....here's the center of the doily I'm currently making.

Are you needle tatting? Or shuttle?

    It's gorgeous!
