Weather unit

I'm looking for a weather unit for the girls. Something with natural disasters, safety precautions and information on each. Something geared towards K-2 ish LOL. Just something fun on weather, they are dying to learn any and everything about weather :)

Hmmm.how mature are they? Can you watch Twister? It isn't too scary.

We used the Cub scout belt loop and pin requirements for weather (Google it - sorry on my phone) for good ideas.

One fun thing I remember was making the different types and layers of clouds with cotton balls on poster board. I measured layers of the atmosphere and glued them in place..

Wish I still had those now that I am thinking about them.

We live in Oklahoma and tornado season is kicking off. They are 7&4. They've seen twister, but not in awhile. I thought about having them watch that, when we do our tornado week

You could see if your local news station dose a sever weather awareness thing that you could get from them that they use for presentations they do at schools. Our weather station in Lubbock Texas dose a severe weather program every year for the elementary schools.
