I'm looking into the workbox idea for next school year. I have a few questions -

-what activities do you put in them besides workbooks, book reading... I'm having trouble coming up with a list of things to put in. Letter cubes? magnetic words? My younger two will be in 1st and 2nd grade next year and so many of the activities I see are geared more for preschool age.

-what type of box/shelf do you use? I see so many types on different blogs. A lot of them rec these shoe racks from Target, the reviews of that product are terrible, so IDK... We have some metal utility shelves in our HS room already, so I might just use them, but still need boxes.
