about the Asteriod 2012 DA14 near miss that's going on today? I feel like the last person to find these things out lol.

What I thought was neat was reading that the military shot missiles at it. I wonder if the public was notified that meteorites were headed that way and that the military was going to shoot them to bits?

Oh I hadn't read about the military shooting at it I read that it burned up & shattered at low altitude.

We have been studying asteroids all day! And with the Meteor shower in Moscow today, they are totally intrigued!

I don't believe any military would attempt to shoot it out of the sky, and it didn't seem like a missile attack in any of the videos. Infact this is not the first meteor to explode over Russia just before striking the earth. One was in the early 1900's when an entire bog area had its forest wiped out by the percussion of an atmospheric explosion of a meteor

Thank you for not making me the only last person to find out lol. The TV in our house isn't on until weekends and I didn't get on the computer to actually sit down and check out news sites until about noon which is when I found out. Our school day drastically changed to all about metors and asteroids lol
