 They are doughnuts.  Yummy powder sugar coated donuts from New Orleans.  We actually bought a box of mix so I learn the process before I try it from scratch next year.

Yes!  we are.  We are having a Mardi Gras party with another family that homeschools.  I don't know what is on the menu other than king cake.  We are still in the planning stages.  The kids are going to research Mardi Gras and make some fact cards or write a report.
