I think it's enough, my kids love the Magic School Bus and It's all I used for science for my littles for quite awhile. The neat thing is if you watch the show with your kids and discuss it afterwards it tends to snowball. You end up dragged to the computer looking up tent caterpillars. :-)
Here's a few links, if you google you can find more. :-)

I think it's fine. We are big MSB fan's too and have also implemented with hands-on projects and am thinking of joining this but not sure yet - http://www.theyoungscientistsclub.com/themagicschoolbus/ .Are you maybe doing too much? I would say science once a week at his age is plenty and add in a hands-on experiment. Here are some great websites with free ideas, http://www.hookedonscience.org/, http://www.homeschoolscience.com/, http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/.

Its one page 2 to 3 days a week. Maybe 3 minutes of reading and 2-5 minutes of discussion. Once every week or two there is an activity.

It is plenty but I wouldn't stop there. I would purchase models and kits, get extra books from the library, research extra projects and activities. A lot of time what I do is pick a favorite book for the spine for our study and then fill in the gaps with other things. It is definately a good start. We are big fans of magic school bus.

We don't do science the same way we do other subjects (math, history, language, etc). It goes in spurts with science, whereas with other subjects it's a little bit, every day. With science, we always do one unit on Fridays, and some weeks, we will continue that on other days as well. But some weeks it's just Friday. Just depends on the topic that week, and how interested the kids are in that.
We also incorporate science into other subject areas. Health + science is an obvious match. But like last week, my son read about Rainforest peoples in his Usborne Peoples of the World book (we use Sonlight), so we also checked out a Rainforest DVD from the library and watched that afterwards - combining anthropology, geography, and science.
