My girls first got them at about 9.But I have seen babies wearing them

Mine do not but our friends daughters (both of them) need glasses so they forked over the money for sport goggles.

My oldest has had glasses since the age of 3.
If he were doing that many sports, I would invest in two pair, an everyday pair and a sports pair. The sports ones are less likely to break and have all rounded edges so that they don't hurt the wearer or anyone else if hit.
He does karate right now and can see well enough that he just takes them off to spar.

You can get them with a strap in the back. -
My sons don't wear glasses at this point but this is what my son's teammate wears for football and basketball.

We bought prescription safety goggles..made for sports. -
My son doesn't wear sports, but he plays a sport with a helmet. Most of his teammates that have to wear glasses when playing get the sports glasses, but a couple have just worn their glasses under the helmet.
