It depends on the situation.

My husband used to lie about really small things. He learned this behavior from his mother.

He worked very hard to break the cycle and has done really good for the past couple of years.

He was never good at it. I always caught him in the lie within minutes.

If we had tried everything we could to work it out, then yes, I would eventually have to say that I couldn't take it anymore and leave.
