My mom use to make homemade white bread all the time when I was a kid, we always loved to get a slice when still warm with butter and jelly on it.
When the 5 kids were growing up I them different sweet breads sometimes and we also made fried bread which we all loved too.
My two favorite sweetbreads are banana and then pumpkin but very very favorite is the kind my mom use to make banana bread with m&ms in it. MMMMM

I haven't ever made bread from scratch myself, but I am going to for Thanksgiving this year! :) It's my Grandmas receipe that has been in the family for years, she used to make it almost every thanksgiving! So, this year I'm making it, it's sentimental because she died about 12 years ago and we were very close....Here is the receipe!
4 cups of pumpkin
4 cups of sugar
1 cup of oil
5 cups of flour
4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups of nuts (she used walnuts)
2 cups of dates (cut)
Mix in order given. Mixing flour, soda, cloves and cinnamon together. Bake in3 or 4 loafs at 350 for 1 hour. I'm planning on making 2 loafs at a time in the oven :)
