What age should you introduce shoe tying?

Shoe tying is a challenge lol I can't believe it's so hard to teach!! He's 4 yrs old and he said I'm 4 and don't know how to tie my shoe so I said let's start practicing

We're working on it with my 5 year old God daughter right now. -
I'd say 4-5 is the common age to start. -
I don't know! LOL! I recently met a little girl who is only 2 weeks older than my daughter (just turned 4) who has known how to tie her own shoes for 6 months. I've never even given shoes to DD that has laces! She can't tie because she doesn't have anything to tie. I'm thinking of starting to teach her once she turns 4 next week. I feel like I was 5 or 6 when I learned, but obviously, that was a while ago, so I don't remember for sure.

Same here! She's never had shoes with laces. It never even occurred to me to start yet!

I learned how when I was 6. I didn't learn with shoes though. I learned on a piece of cardboard with shoe laces laced on it! -
Generally around 6-7.
