Welcome to Day 3 of the October Weight Loss Challenge!

Are you a walker?

Do you enjoy walking?

Have you ever used walking as a form of exercise?

Will you walk today? How far and/or how long?

A routine of brisk walking has been proven to have the same effects as more strenuous exercise such as jogging or running. Walking also has many good health and weight loss benefits such as:

  • Lowering 'bad' cholesterol
  • Raising 'good' cholesterol
  • Reduces the risk/or manages type 2 diabetes
  • Manages your weight
  • Helps you to stay fit

Make walking comfortable by maintaining good posture. Keep your head up with your eyes forward, shoulders back and relaxed. Remember to tighten your abs and buttocks as well. If you have a pedometer, use it to track your steps/distance.

Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, anyone can effectively and safely lose weight by walking.

    I love walking.  I don't do it as often as I should though.

    I'm not a runner, so walking on the treadmill is my preferred exercise (when I actually do it). I do enjoy a brisk walk outside, but my little one can't keep up if I do that. :)

    I frequently walk to my kids school to pick them up. Its a mile round trip. Takes about 20-25 minutes. I do use it for a bit of exercise. Its a little hill-y. I run sometimes. Not consistently though.

    I love walking. I walk on the tread mill everyday. I walk for 40 minutes.

     i like to walk, but i have a heel spur. so it hurts. i prbably wont be walking today but ,y mom will keep my daughter tonight so i will try.

    I walk my daughter to school. Hoping to get on the treadmill later today.

    Are you a walker?Not just a no...but, a heck no! LOL

    Do you enjoy walking?No...

    Have you ever used walking as a form of exercise?Once per week.. I walk with some girlfriends while our girls are in Choir practice at Church..we walk the parking lot for an hour..

    Will you walk today? How far and/or how long? I've already run 3.25 miles today, but I will be walking around a lot working at a consignment sale, then shopping, then going to Church and teaching Cubbies for 1.5 hours tonight.. I will log a ton of steps today..
