Yes, it does make them more special if you just save them for the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We watch Christmas movies whenever we happen to be in the mood. I remember wishing some of the Christmas specials were available at different times of the year when I was a kid. It's kind of nice to watch something cold in the middle of July. (=
