I haven't done it. My birthstone and my son's are amethyst. My daughters are both peridots. :)

Mine is peridot. My mom gave me peridot earrings years ago and I still have them. :)

My kids are topaz and turquoise. I haven't given them anything with their birthstone, but I did get an adorable peapod necklace for myself with both of their birthstones in it. :)
