Sent DH to the commissary today with a nice size list. He just called and said there wasn't a parking space to be had. Not sure what we were thinking sending him today. Guess we'll push through until next Tuesday.

Nah. With the savings at the commissary it's worth the wait for us.

Not really... If you coupon and watch local sales, you can actually do the same if not a bit better than the commissary. just takes a bit of digging...

Not around here. A block of cheddar cheese at our local grocery store is $3.29. At the commissary it's almost always $1.50.
Milk is 75 cents cheaper at commissary. For basic staples commissary here is WAY cheaper.
Now if it's on sale here and Bilo will double my coupon then I'll get it there without a doubt.

Exactly. Target does a double coupon thing if you have their coupon, and a manufacturer one. Plus, they always have a lot of things on clearance and sales. That combined with coupons, we've gotten a lot of good deals.

I never ever shop at the commisary during the week of pay day. and I really don't save all that much unless I need meat. with the added 5% tax added on at the end it really is not all that much cheaper than walmart.

We don't do commissaries on pay day. Learned a long time ago that if we are low on food, it's just safer to eat out somewhere far away from base. LOL
