New year new beginnings
December 26, 2012 at 9:39 AM

I've been thinking a lot about the new year. I know it's really just another day and that all you really do is chance the year you put on everything. but even though i'm still thinking that i will make a new years resolution. I'm going to start with trying to declutter some more this year and get read of EVERYTHING that has no use.

I'm going to start planning a garden and try to figure out where i can put the seedlings. Hope my herbs and stuff get off to a better start. once the plants get big enough i may take them outside and cover them with a plastic cover so i can start some more in here.

I'm going to have to redo the budget and try and figure out yet again where i can cut back on bills. If tax returns are delayed then i have to figure in yet another and the highest bill into our monthly budget. normally we pay the house payment yearly with our tax return.

I'll also be trying to figure out how to make more use of the living space we have now. While hubby plans on buying some land and putting a underground bunker on it. If he gets that done we will have to figure out how to downsize even more then i am planning on.

I'm also wanting to finish reading the bible from cover to cover and hope to be able to read it again during the year. I also want to start some kind of bible study. but i'm not sure if i want to do my own kind of study of the bible or find one. lately i have bee a little leary of other people's opinions because so may lead people down a wrong path.

I will be reworking my home management book and get my bible journal started. It's been talked about for to long i need to really get started on it.

What about you ladies? what are you planning for the new year?

I will continue on my path to finish school so I can work closer to home and be closer to my kids. I want to have evenings at home with my family on work days so I can prepare dinner and give my kids baths and make sure they are prepared for the next day. Currently I work 90 mins from home and although I am blessed to have a great income and benefits, I need to be more available for my family.

I will prepare to get my credit report fixed ( currently some things are reporting inaccurately) and get my home prepared to sell.

I will be more available for my husband and his needs.

I will beging to pray with my family and hopefully we will find a church that is a good fit for us.

Well...I can't make any plans for this coming year until some decisions are made here at my home. We have come to a fork in the road and no choice sounds good..and we can't stay where we are. Once I figure out what is going on, then I can plan accordingly.
Good luck on meeting all your goals!

Well since I am still not completely sure about where my life is headed I figured I can at least control a few things about it this coming year.

    - To stop drinking pop January 1 2013.
    - I already committed to running a 5 K with a friend in the Spring. Need to start training for that again.
    - To read my Bible more.
    - To follow my heart more with my children and their homeschool education. To have more fun, do more crafts and spend a lot more time outside.

The Lord has been dealing with me about living passionately. He has stripped away so much from me, and who I thought I was. I'm just starting to figure out who I am - or more acurately, who I want to be. So my resolutions this year are to take it one week at a time. Every week I will focus on one thing, trying to incorporate habits as needed or desired. This week, my focus is morning prayer. That area hasn't been what it should be lately, so I just want to make sure I am having my "morning coffee visit" with the Lord before I start my day. Next week, I will choose one goal to deal with the physical while continuing this week's spiritual goal. Each week, I will add a challenge, alternating between physical, spiritual, mental, and random fun ones. In doing it this way, I will be able to adjust goals as needed, I won't feel overwhelmed by things like "Lose 50 pounds", and I deal with every part of who I am...a 3-part being who is just learning who she is and has a lot of areas to change or improve. :)

Good luck to all of you in reaching your goals for this year! May our primary goal be to draw closer to the Lord in every day of this coming year!

My opinion is that a year is an awful long time. My goals, desires, priorities, etc. change over time. But surely anyone - even me! - can do anything for seven days. :)

I celebrate Yahweh's new year in spring. That's when we clean the homes and the passover is the beginning of his feasts. Goals are great, but I try to do a little at a time. Every month lol I have learned they ate easy to forget or neglect otherwise. But that's me. Lol

My resolutions are to keep up with the housekeeping (using my home binder and daily checklists) and to read the whole Bible and catechism. :)
