I agree... invest in Foot Petals.... they offer cushion and keep your foot from slipping. You can also but stuff like grip tape to put on the bottom of your shoe for traction (especially in winter)
For extra heel and arch cushioning, slip orthopedic inserts into your
flats. Most won’t fit into skimpy high heels, so use gel pads or Foot
Petals, there instead. You can buy them at a drugstore for around $20,
or spring for custom-made orthotics from a doctor. Yeah, best to stick
with foot petals, so you don’t have to say you are wearing “orthotics”.
