BOUTONNIERES~~~Do They Still Do Them For Homecoming Dances
September 26, 2013 at 12:55 PM

Do your daughters buy boutonnieres for their dates for the Homecoming dances?

My 16 year old daughter is prepearing for their Homecoming dance.  It's the first one she's been to.  She in a new school and they didn't have them at her old school.  She got the nice party dress and told her boyfriend the color (he wanted to know~I'm assuming so he could match his tie to it as well as get a coordinating corsage.)  Anyway, I'm telling my daughter she needs to buy him a boutonniere too.  She doesn't believe me.  She's telling me that you only do that for prom.  I told her that we always did.  She tells me that they don't do things like get corsages and boutonnieres anymore.  That's old fashioned.  This boy does so much for her and I feel confident that he will get her a corsage.  I just think she needs to get him a boutonniere.  What do you think?

I just ordered my Freshman daughter's date a bouttineire last week.  I got a rose spray in coral (the color of the skirt of her dress) and the stem wrapped in black ribbon (the color of her dress' bodice).  He is wearing a black suit and coral tie.

My Junior daughter went to HC freshman and sophomore years and gave her dates bouttineires both years and received corsages in exchange. They were both 'friends' dates but they went the traditional whole 9 yards anyway.  This year she and her date are not going to the dance--they are going with a group of friends to play paintball, LOL!  I  hope your daughter has a wonderful time with her date. :-)
